Changes to bus, tram and train services in South Yorkshire

From Monday 26 January for approximately 9 months, Attercliffe Road will be temporarily closed for roadworks. Buses on services 9, 9a, 207 and X3 will be observe the diversion from Monday 12 January.

From end of service on Sunday 22 March 2026, Mexborough Bus Station will permanently close. As a result, services 216, 217, 218, 221, 621 and X20 will be diverted from Greens Way to serve the Hartley Street cluster of bus stops in both directions. 

From Sunday 29 March there are minor timetable changes to services 272 and 357. And service 218 reverts to a British Summer Time timetable.

From Tuesday 31 March Yorkshire Buses have ceased operation of service 51 in Doncaster. Wilfreda Beehive will now operate the service. There is no change to the route or timetable of service 51 as a result of this change. Journeys on Monday to Saturday evening which are operated by First South Yorkshire remain unchanged. 

From Wednesday 01 April Stagecoach service 399 will no longer run on Monday-Friday. There is a revised Saturday timetable to serve Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

From Sunday 12 April there are minor timetable changes to services 94, 94a, 96 and 198 in Barnsley, route and timetable changes to the X20, and timetable changes to the 383 in Doncaster. Globe Coaches will also introduce a Monday - Saturday evening and all day Sunday service to the 32 Barnsley to Cudworth.

From Monday 13 April there are changes to the times of Blue & Yellow Tram route services. The temporary timetable on Mondays to Saturdays will end and a peak frequency of 12 minutes will return.

If your service is not shown on the below list of service changes, then it is not subject to any upcoming changes.

to the times of the Blue Tram route service. The temporary timetable on Mondays to Saturdays will end and a peak frequency 
of 12 minutes will return.

From Sunday 14 December, there will be minor changes to the times of Purple route services on Sundays, including an earlier start and an additional evening journey. There are no changes on other days of the week.

From Thursday 09 April, there will be minor changes to Tram Train services with the addition of the new Magna Tram Train station.
