The 2026 Donor Run will take place on Saturday 8 August in Sheffield city centre. The event, part of the British Transplant Games, will help raise awareness of the NHS Organ Donor Register, benefits of Organ Transplantation, and the Anthony Nolan Register while paying tribute to the Live Donors and Donor Families who have given the gift of life.
The 2.5/5k fun run will start and finish at Barkers Pool, outside Sheffield City Hall
To enable the event, a number of road closures will be in place along and near the route, affecting both car users and public transport users. This page contains more information about options for travelling to the event, and bus diversion information for all affected services.
Certain roads in Sheffield city centre will be closed on Saturday 8 August from start of service to approximately 15:30, including Arundel Gate (with most bus services diverted to Sheffield Interchange).
Check the diversion information for each specific bus service below.
Normal service is expected to resume for all services after 21:30, when the final remaining road closures are expected to be lifted.
Services SC1, SC2 are suspended during the event. The final departure from Sheffield Interchange is service SC1 scheduled at 1530.

It's free to park at any Travel South Yorkshire Park and Ride, just pay for the cost of your travel.
Park and Ride sites are well served by the Supertram network, which may be the quickest and easiest way for you to travel to the Sheffield Donor Run as it isn't affected by road closures from the race.
The nearest tram stop for the City Hall start line is Cathedral.

To enable this event to operate safely, a number of road closures will be in effect, including on key transport corridors such asaround Arundel Gate.
Access to some residential areas immediately next to the race route may be restricted.

Most roads on the route are expected to close from around 15:00, to around 21:30.
All road closures are beyond the control of Travel South Yorkshire, and bus operators plan diversion routes on the latest available information. Some buses may revert to normal routes earlier than anticipated, depending on when roads are reopened.
