Remembrance Sunday Service Changes and Road Closures

Sunday 8 November 2026

Information on this page:

Remembrance Sunday takes place on Sunday 8 November 2026, with commemorative events being held across South Yorkshire.

To facilitate these events, a number of temporary road closures will be in place throughout the day. These closures will affect both motorists and public transport users, with some bus services subject to diversions, altered routes, or temporary changes to stopping arrangements.

This page provides details of all known bus service changes and diversions resulting from Remembrance Sunday events, as well as information about selected Remembrance Day events taking place on Wednesday 11 November 2026. We recommend planning your journey in advance and allowing extra time for travel where possible.

Park and Ride sites are well served by the Supertram network, which could be the quickest and easiest way for you to travel to the remembrance events held in Sheffield as it isn't affected by road closures.

You'll always pay the best value fare when purchasing Supertram tickets in advance using the TSY Mobile app. You can also purchase tickets on-board from the conductor using contactless or cash.

Advice for local residents

To enable this event to operate safely, a number of road closures will be in effect:

Access to some residential areas immediately next to the race route may be restricted.

Check our bus diversions and changes section for full details about bus diversion routes, changes and road closures.

All road closures are beyond the control of Travel South Yorkshire, and bus operators plan diversion routes on the latest available information. Some buses may revert to normal routes earlier than anticipated, depending on when roads are reopened.
