| Service Changes | 28 August 2026On Sunday 23 August, a track defect was reported near Birley on the Blue route. After further investigation, a historical well or mineshaft was discovered below the tracks which means we are currently unable to operate trams between Gleadless Townend and Halfway. We anticipate tram services to be suspended for some time whilst we undertake further investigations and remedial works to ensure the tracks are safe. For further information and updates about this issue, please visit our dedicated webpage : Unplanned Engineering Works at Birley Lane - Travel South Yorkshire24 - 31 October 2026From Saturday 24 to Saturday 31 October inclusive, Blue route services will operate between Shalesmoor for Kelham Island and Herdings Park only, at a normal frequency of up to every 12 minutes. Supertram replacement bus service BL2 will connect to tram services at Shalesmoor, and will serve affected stops between Shalesmoor and Malin Bridge. |
