Supertram renewal works near Manor Top, Hollinsend and Spring Lane
Works take place from Saturday 28 March - Sunday 12 April 2026. A normal tram service in this area will resume on Monday 13 April.

Essential works to improve your Supertram network will take place from Saturday 28 March to Sunday 12 April inclusive (16 days).
We'll complete a number of improvement works to enhance your journey and ensure continued reliability, including:
- Track renewal and track slab repairs at:
- Manor Top (Ridgeway Road to City Road)
- City Road
- Park Grange Road (Spring Lane)
- Hollinsend (Ridgeway Road)

Blue route
- Trams operate between Malin Bridge and Sheffield Station, at a normal frequency of up to every 15 minutes
- Trams operate between Halfway and Gleadless Townend, up to every 15 minutes
- Replacement bus service BP1 will operate between Fitzalan Square and Herdings Park, up to every 15 minutes

BP1 Bus
Replacement bus service BP1 will provide a frequent and reliable connection to tram services, operating between Fitzalan Square and Herdings Park.

- Live tracking: Check the location of the replacement bus on a real-time map, just search for your bus stop on TSY Live Departures and tap a service.
- Timetabled to connect with trams: Services operate up to every 15 minutes, and are synced with tram service frequency throughout the day.
- Express service: This bus only stops at specific bus stops which are located near to affected tram stops.
- Travel with your tram ticket: Show any valid tram ticket purchased in advance using the TSY Mobile App or from a tram conductor. Tickets can also be purchased from the bus driver.
Speed up your journey by having your ticket ready to show the driver. You can also purchase a ticket using contactless card or cash when you board, just ask for a ticket like you would do from a tram conductor.
Bus only tickets are not accepted by the replacement bus service.

Tram services in this area will resume on Monday 13 April.
The renewal works taking place near Manor Top, Hollinsend and Spring Lane will prevent trams from being able to serve stops from Granville Road to Hollinsend, and Herdings/Leighton Road to Herdings Park. The majority of the Supertram network will remain open.
You may need to use the replacement bus for part of your journey. Connect between tram and bus services at Fitzalan Square and Gleadless Townend.
Tram replacement bus stops will be marked and have information provided where possible. Use the maps in the sections below to plan ahead and find the location of your replacement bus stop.

Walking
At Halfway, the pedestrian crossing between the tram stop and Park and Ride nearest to the cabin will be closed. Please use the other crossing.

Local tickets accepted on First Bus services from Manor Top to Sheffield City Centre via City Road on routes: 8 / 8a / 73 / 120 / 120k
Roads
We'll be working on Ridgeway Road, City Road and Park Grange Road with a combination of two way lights and full road closures.
Park and Ride
All Travel South Yorkshire Park and Ride sites will remain open during these works, offering free parking as usual.

It may be quicker and more convenient to walk, wheel or cycle part of your journey to connect to services at a different stop.
Free cycle parking is available at Sheffield Interchange.

- Sheffield Station to Granville Road: 5 minutes (350 metres)
- Granville Road to Park Grange Croft: 12 minutes (750 metres)
- Park Grange Croft to Park Grange: 9 minutes (550 metres)
- Park Grange to Arbourthorne Road: 14 minutes (800 metres)
- Arbourthorne Road to Spring Lane: 11 minutes (800 metres)
- Spring Lane to Manor Top: 17 minutes (1,100 metres)
- Manor Top to Hollinsend: 12 minutes (900 metres)
- Hollinsend to Gleadless Townend: 12 minutes (750 metres)
- Gleadless Townend to Herdings/Leighton Road: 9 minutes (650 metres)
- Herdings/Leighton Road to Herdings Park: 8 minutes (600 metres)
There are alternative travel options through the wider South Yorkshire bus network.

It should be noted that during these works, Supertram tickets will not be accepted on local bus services, only the Supertram replacement bus.

Letters have been sent to local residents and businesses notifying them in advance of these works. Contact details for our contractor VolkerRail and Colas Rail have been provided.
Unfortunately these works will generate noise, and our contractor will endeavour to reduce noise as much as possible.
