Supertram colleagues take on Three Peaks Challenge for charity

Three Supertram colleagues are taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge this June to raise money for Andy's Man Club, a charity that provides free peer-to-peer support groups across the UK.

On 11 June 2026, Tram Driver Simon Scanes, Conductor Charlie Gillott and Rolling Stock Maintenance Lead Technician Gary Wilcock will attempt to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in just 24 hours, covering 23 miles on foot, 3,348 metres of ascent and hundreds of miles of driving between the peaks.

Supporting colleagues to make a difference

The challenge is being supported through Tramendous Together, Supertram's social value programme, which helps colleagues raise funds and volunteer for causes that matter to them.

Supertram has supported the team from the start, helping with transport costs and contributing towards their fundraising efforts. Over the past year, colleagues have supported a range of community initiatives, helping raise more than £4,500 for local charities and causes across South Yorkshire.

The Three Peaks Challenge is the latest in a long line of fundraising activities supported by Tram Driver Simon Scanes, who regularly brings colleagues together for charity initiatives, including:

The challenge also reflects Supertram's commitment to colleague wellbeing, teamwork and supporting one another both in and outside of work.

Fundraising efforts

The team has already raised more than £540 through a Coffee, Cake and Chat event and is aiming to reach £1,000.

Everyone who donates will be entered into a prize draw with the chance to win:
