Supertram essential engineering works

Supertram will be carrying out essential rail replacement works on sections of track on Infirmary Road, between Albert Terrace Road and Montgomery Terrace Road, over the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend.
The rail replacement works are scheduled to take place from the evening of Wednesday 1 June until start of service Monday 6 June and will affect Blue and Yellow Route tram services.
These works form part of an ongoing maintenance programme and are critical to extend the lifespan of the tram network and maintain the reliable, comfortable and safe level of service.
How will the works affect tram services?
On Thursday 2 June (Spring Bank Holiday) and Friday 3 June (Jubilee Bank Holiday), a Saturday service will operate
From Thursday 2 June until Sunday 5 June inclusive trams will operate as follows:

For those that need to travel over the Jubilee Bank Holiday period, the following bus services are available as an alternative to the tram:

- Yellow Route tram services will operate between Meadowhall Interchange and Shalesmoor only
- Purple Route tram and Tram Train services are not affected and will operate as normal but to a revised timetable.

For those that need to travel over the Jubilee Bank Holiday period, the following bus services are available as an alternative to the tram:
- First services 81 and 82 provide alternative links between city, Shalesmoor and Hillsborough/Malin Bridge
- First service 52a provides an alternative link between city and Hillsborough
- Stagecoach service 52 provides an alternative link between city and Hillsborough (limited service)
- Stagecoach service 57 provides an alternative link between city, Shalesmoor and Hillsborough Park
- Stagecoach services 7 and 86 provide alternative links between city, Penistone Road and Hillsborough Park
- First services 8/8a and 86 (eve/Sun) provide alternative links between city, Penistone Road and Hillsborough Park
