Travel Guidance on 12 and 13 September 2026
On the weekend of 12 and 13 September, students at Sheffield Hallam University will be moving into their accommodation, and on 13 September the Sheffield United v Wolves match will kick off at 12pm at Bramall Lane.
Travelling by tram
The nearest tram stops for Sheffield Hallam University and Bramall Lane are Sheffield Station and Granville Road.
Saturday services will operate every 12 minutes and Sunday services will operate every 20 minutes for the Blue route.

Park and Ride
Free parking is available at Park & Ride sites across the Supertram network. The closest sites to the city centre are Nunnery Square, Valley Centertainment, or Meadowhall.
Tram tickets
Whether you’re travelling on your own or with friends, there are a range of ticket options to help you get around:
- 1-Day tram tickets cost just £5.30 on the TSY Mobile app, or £5.70 onboard.
- 1-Day CityWide tickets cost just £7.20 on the TSY Mobile app and provide unlimited travel on all buses and trams in Sheffield.
- 1-Day Group tickets cost just £10 for up to five people and give unlimited tram and replacement bus travel until the end of service.
- Weekend tickets cost just £10 for one person and provide unlimited tram travel from noon on Friday until the end of service on Sunday.
Valid tram tickets are accepted on replacement bus services. Tickets can be purchased in advance or on the day via the TSY Mobile app, from an onboard Conductor or from the bus driver.
Travelling by bus
Bus services will be affected by the road closures around Bramall Lane and Shoreham Street on Sunday 13 September.The following services are expected to be affected: 18, 18A, 24, 25, 47, 48, 51 and 73.
When Bramall Lane is closed, services 18, 18A and 73 normally divert via Queens Road, St Mary’s Road, Bramall Lane Roundabout and Eyre Street towards Sheffield city centre.
When travelling from Sheffield city centre, services 18, 18A, 24, 25, 47, 48, 51 and 73 normally divert via St Mary’s Road, Fornham Street, Suffolk Road and Queens Road.
As Shoreham Street is also due to be closed, additional bus services may be affected. Diversion arrangements are still being confirmed, so please check the latest travel information before setting off and allow extra time for your journey.
Walking
If you’re travelling into Sheffield city centre, Sheffield Station is around a 10-minute walk from the city centre.
For students arriving with luggage and belongings, please allow extra time to find a suitable drop-off or parking location and continue your journey into the city centre.
Travelling by train
Trains are another option for getting into Sheffield, particularly for students travelling from outside the city.
