£130m government funding to protect vital bus services

On Friday 19 August 2022, The Department for Transport (DfT) announced up £130 million of government funding would be provided to bus operators to protect vital bus services across England.
The additional funding aims to help bus operators continue to run bus routes which people rely on at a time of rising costs. It will cover up to 6 months, from October 2022 to March 2023.
Travel South Yorkshire, as part of the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, will work with local authorities and bus operators to discuss their plans for the bus network following this funding announcement.
