No experience is needed. All activities are simple, and full guidance will be given by the Supertram team on the day.

Yes, volunteers will be provided with free Supertram travel on the day of their volunteering activity to help you get to and from the session.

Just wear suitable clothing and footwear for outdoor or practical tasks. Any tools, equipment, and additional PPE needed will be provided by Supertram. Volunteers are responsible for ensuring they are appropriately prepared for weather conditions, including the use of sunscreen during hot or sunny weather.

Session times may vary depending on the activity, but full details will always be shared in advance so you know what to expect.

1. Participation in the Supertram Community Ambassador Volunteer Programme is entirely voluntary and unpaid. Volunteers take part at their own choice and availability, and Supertram reserves the right to accept or decline participation where appropriate.
2. Volunteers must be aged 16 or over. Volunteers under 18 may require parental or guardian consent. Volunteers should be based within South Yorkshire or within a reasonable commuting distance of the Supertram network.
3. Volunteers are not employees of Supertram and must not present themselves as Supertram staff or act as official Supertram colleagues at any time.
4. Volunteer support is only required during agreed activity sessions. Outside of these times, there is no obligation to undertake any duties or responsibilities on behalf of Supertram.
5. Volunteers may choose to carry out informal, positive actions such as helping to keep their local tram stop tidy on an ongoing basis, however, no major changes, works, or interventions must be carried out without prior approval from Supertram.
6. Activities may include light practical tasks such as planting, weeding, painting, litter picking, and supporting community events. All tasks will be low-risk and suitable for public participation. Volunteers will only be asked to take part in activities appropriate to their abilities where possible.
7. All activities will be subject to appropriate risk assessments carried out by Supertram. Volunteers will receive a safety briefing before starting any activity and must follow all instructions provided by Supertram staff at all times.
8. All necessary tools, equipment, and guidance will be provided by Supertram.
9. Volunteers should ensure they are physically able to take part in the activities they agree to and must inform Supertram of any accessibility requirements or support needs at the time of registration.
10. Volunteers are expected to behave respectfully towards staff, other volunteers, and members of the public at all times. Supertram reserves the right to withdraw a volunteer’s participation if behaviour is deemed unsafe or inappropriate.
11. Contact details provided during registration will be used solely to contact volunteers about upcoming volunteering opportunities related to the Supertram Community Ambassador Volunteer Programme. Details will not be shared with third parties.
12. Volunteers taking part in approved activities will be covered under Supertram’s public liability arrangements. Supertram is not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings during volunteering activities.
13. Volunteers take responsibility for their own personal care during activities, including appropriate protection against weather conditions such as sun exposure. Supertram cannot accept responsibility for sunburn or related effects resulting from participation.
14. Volunteers participate in outdoor environments that may include plants, soil, and landscaped areas. Supertram cannot accept responsibility for any allergic reactions or sensitivities that may occur. Volunteers should inform the team of any relevant allergies or conditions prior to participation.
15. Volunteers may be photographed or filmed during activities for Supertram marketing and communications purposes. Where required, separate consent will be requested.
16. Supertram reserves the right to amend, postpone, or cancel volunteering activities where necessary, including due to weather, safety concerns, or operational requirements.
