Supertram continues to support the future of light rail through UKTram

At Supertram, we’re proud to work alongside organisations across the light rail industry to share knowledge, improve standards and help deliver the best possible service for our customers.

Earlier this year, our Head of Service Delivery, Trevor Stocker, was appointed Vice Chair of the Light Rail Operations Committee (LROC), part of UKTram. UKTram represents the UK’s light rail sector, bringing together tram networks to share best practice, improve safety and support the future of light rail. The LROC plays an important role in this by providing a forum for operators across the UK and Ireland to collaborate and learn from one another.

Supporting Supertram and the wider industry

Trevor continues to lead our operational teams at Supertram, helping deliver a safe, reliable and customer-focused service across South Yorkshire. Alongside this, he supports UKTram by working with operators across the industry to strengthen collaboration, share operational expertise and help drive continuous improvement.

Speaking about his appointment, Trevor said:

“I’ve been attending the Light Rail Operations Committee for nearly 10 years and have always appreciated the community, collaboration and camaraderie. As I've progressed in my career, I’ve taken great pride in the wider contributions we can make beyond our own networks to improve what we deliver for our customers and help grow the industry.”

Reflecting on 20 years in light rail

More recently, Trevor attended the UK Light Rail Conference in Nottingham, where he reflected on his journey in the industry.

“20 years ago, I joined the industry as a conductor in Nottingham, thinking it would be a temporary role. I quickly fell in love with light rail, and today I’m fortunate to work with an amazing team at Supertram helping keep Sheffield moving, while also supporting the wider industry through UKTram. It’s a privilege to share ideas, learn from others and help strengthen light rail for the future.”
