How to claim free travel
Eligible passengers should be prepared to show one of the following forms of identification or proof of service to the onboard tram conductor or bus driver:
- Serving Armed Forces personnel in uniform or with valid military ID
- Veterans displaying a Veterans’ Badge, Veterans’ ID Card or military medals (for individuals who served)
- Cadets in uniform attending Armed Forces Day events
- Ministry of Defence-issued ID card (MOD90)
- Defence Discount Service card or a Defence Privilege Card, including war/service widows and widowers

South Yorkshire’s Mayor Oliver Coppard said:
“As we come together across South Yorkshire to mark Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day, it’s right that we take time to honour the service and sacrifice of our veterans and armed forces.
“We’re offering free travel on Supertram, alongside some of our bus operators, so veterans and serving personnel attending commemorative events can do so without worrying about the cost of getting there. It’s a small but meaningful way of saying thank you for everything they have done, and continue to do, in service of our country”
