Dore & Totley Park & Ride car park closure

Network Rail will be carrying out essential engineering works to maintain the safe and reliable operation of the railway line. Works involve replacing the bridge structure and track over the River Sheaf, located near Dore & Totley Station, from Monday 28 September 2026 until Friday 4 December 2026 during the following hours:

• Monday to Friday: 07:00 to 17:00 each day
• Saturday night shifts throughout September, October, November and December: 23:00 to 07:00
• Friday 6 November 23:00 to Monday 9 November 06:00

Car park restrictions

To facilitate this work, the Dore and Totley Station car park will need to be temporarily closed. Key project dates and car park arrangements are shown below:

• Partial car park closure: 28 September 2026 to 11 October 2026.
• Full car park closure: 12 October 2026 to 27 November 2026.
• Partial car park closure: 28 November 2026 to 3 December 2026.
• Full reopening of the car park: Friday 4 December 2026.

Monday 28 September – Sunday 11 October and Saturday 28 November – Thursday 3 December 2026

Approximately half of the car park will be closed from Monday 28 September to Sunday 11 October and from Saturday 28 November to Thursday 3 December 2026. The remaining half will be available for customer parking as usual.

Entry and exit to the car park will be the same as normal but, to enable access to all of the available spaces, a temporary two-way system will be in place within the car park. Pedestrian access will remain the same. Please see the below plan for details.

Dore & Totley car park will be full closed and customers should use the alternative designated parking spaces available near Abbeydale Badminton Club at Abbeydale Sports Club on Abbeydale Road.

The car park will re-open as normal from Friday 4 December 2026.

Alternative parking spaces

From Monday 28 September 2026 until Thursday 3 December 2026, alternative parking will be available and clearly signposted at Abbeydale Sports Club, Abbeydale Road, Sheffield, S17 3LJ, with designated spaces provided near Abbeydale Badminton Club. In addition, accessible drop-off, laydown and pick-up points will be available on Ladies Spring Grove during the closure.

While the station car park is closed to the public, both platforms will remain open and fully accessible. Clearly signposted diversion routes will be in place to guide pedestrians safely around the works.
