Netherthorpe Mural: Making Supertram Tram Stops a Brighter Space with Completed Mural

Created by artist Rob Lee, the mural continues the transformation of the underpass and the improvement it has brought to Supertram’s infrastructure. The work has transformed the underpass sections that were previously unpainted, creating a brighter atmosphere with multiple colours and patterns.

Alastair Flindall, Director of the Lick of Paint Festival, said: “It adds brightness to people’s day, something that welcomes them in and sends them off with good vibes”

This latest section builds on the first phase of the Netherthorpe community mural project. Feedback from the first mural showed that 78% of people felt similar artwork would improve other tram and bus stops, while 24% said initiatives like this made them feel safer.
