Nigel Wragg, Commercial Manager at Supertram said:
“Armed Forces Day gives us a chance to recognise and thank the men and women who have served, and continue to serve, our country. We’re proud to support the celebrations in Sheffield and Rotherham by offering free travel, helping people attend events and show their appreciation for the dedication, professionalism and sacrifice of our Armed Forces community.”
South Yorkshire Deputy mayor, Kilvinder Vigurs, said:
“We are delighted to support Armed Forces Day by making travel free for those who serve and have served, as well as cadets taking part in local events. By removing the barrier of cost, we hope to make it easier for people to attend celebrations across South Yorkshire and for communities to come together in recognition of the Armed Forces. It is a small token of our appreciation, but I hope it goes some way to enable these moments of connection and celebration.”
