Affordable, flexible bus travel in selected communities

SYPN OnDemand connects people in selected communities in Doncaster and Rotherham with local destinations, transport and employment hubs.

It's a flexible, shared transport service that you book when you need to travel. Unlike a traditional bus, it doesn't follow a fixed route or timetable.

Is OnDemand available in my area?

OnDemand is only available in selected communities within two service zones.

• Doncaster: Fenwick, Moss, Askern, Norton, Campsall, Sutton, Burghwallis, Owston and Tollbar.
• Rotherham: Waverley, Ulley, Thurcroft, Brookhouse, Slade Hooton, Laughton en le Morthen, Firbeck, Letwell, Gildingwells, Dinnington, North Anston, South Anston, Woodsetts, Thorpe Salvin, Harthill, Woodall and Todwick.

From these zones, you can travel to a range of local hubs, including transport interchanges, railway stations, hospitals, shopping and employment sites.

Your journey must start and finish within the OnDemand zone or at one of the included hubs.

You can't travel directly from Rotherham to Doncaster or vice versa.

How does OnDemand work?

SYPN OnDemand works like a shared taxi, with journeys booked in advance rather than following a fixed route or timetable.

You tell us where you want to travel from and to, and we'll find an available journey for you.

You may be asked to walk a short distance to your pick-up point. This allows us to group passengers travelling in the same direction and helps keep journeys efficient.

Although it's not a traditional bus service, OnDemand can do many of the things a bus can, including picking up at bus stops, using bus lanes and giving you the chance to sit back and enjoy your journey.

• From 60 minutes before you want to travel

The service connects communities within the zones shown above with key local hubs.

You can use OnDemand to make journeys within your zone or connect with local bus, rail and tram services to continue your journey.

Doncaster OnDemand hubs

You can use OnDemand to connect with destinations and transport hubs including:

• South Elmsall Industrial Estate, South Elmsall Bus Station, Carcroft Business Park, Adwick Railway Station and Red House Industrial Estate.

You can use OnDemand to connect with destinations and transport hubs including:

• Rotherham Interchange, Meadowhall Interchange, Crystal Peaks Bus Station, Kiveton Bridge Railway Station, Rotherham Hospital, Parkgate, Sheffield Business Park, Retford Road Industrial Estate, Swallownest A618 Industrial Estate and Old Colliery Way Industrial Estate.

Fares

Adult fares start from £3 per journey.

For example:

• Norton to Doncaster Interchange: £3
• Norton to Campsall: £3

TravelMaster tickets can be bought on the vehicle.

When does SYPN OnDemand operate?

OnDemand operates Monday to Saturday.

• First pick-ups: from 5am
• Last drop-offs: by 6pm

Availability depends on your location and the journey you want to make.

Is the service wheelchair accessible?

Yes. All SYPN OnDemand vehicles are wheelchair accessible.

If you have any accessibility requirements, you can provide this information when you book your journey.

How do I book a journey?

1. Create an account

Download the SYPN OnDemand app and create an account.

2. Enter your journey

Enter your pick-up and destination, then choose an available journey. You can add a payment method and pay in advance, or pay on the bus using cash, card or contactless.

3. Check your pick-up point

We'll tell you where and when to meet your vehicle. You may need to walk a short distance from your requested pick-up address.

4. Meet your vehicle

Arrive at your pick-up point at the time shown in your booking and look out for your SYPN OnDemand vehicle.
