Coronavirus: How to pay for travel

To minimise contact, use contactless payment options instead of cash. This includes using a preloaded smartcard, which you can load your travel ticket to at machines in our interchanges to further reduce contact.
If you still wish to pay by cash, you can still buy or top up a smartcard from our cash ticket machines in interchanges or load travel onto your TravelMaster card at one of over 900 Payzone outlets,.
If you need to pay by cash on board, please make sure you have the exact fare to minimise contact with the driver.
You can also visit www.sytravelmaster.com where you can buy the full range of TravelMaster tickets and load them to your smartcard.
A range of 1-Day, 7-Day and 28-Day tickets are available, and you can choose a ticket which can be used on one operator, or multi-operator:
Got a Stagecoach smartcard? Buy a 1-Day CityBus, CityWide, SYConnect or RConnect on bus or tram, or a Stagecoach Dayrider on any Stagecoach bus or tram.
You can also buy 1-day TravelMaster tickets through the First mTickets app and Stagecoach Bus app.
You can buy 7-Day TravelMaster tickets such as CityWide, CityBus and regional tickets such as BConnect, RConnect and DonConnect on a TravelMaster or Stagecoach smartcard on bus or tram. Stagecoach 7-Day tickets will also be available on a Stagecoach or TravelMaster smartcard on any Stagecoach bus or tram*.
Contactless payments are accepted on First Buses in Rotherham, Doncaster and Sheffield for purchasing Adult singles or day tickets and on board Stagecoach Buses throughout South Yorkshire for all tickets costing less than £30.

Buy 7-Day and 28-Day TravelMaster tickets from ticket machines at Interchanges (excl: Adwick, Dinnington and Mexborough).
You can also pick one up closer to home at Payzone shops in South Yorkshire, find your nearest shop.
Day tickets can be bought when you board your bus or tram and loaded onto your current smartcard.
Reuse your TravelMaster Smartcard
There is a £1 charge for a new smartcard on bus or tram, this charge also applies when purchasing a smartcard ticket from a ticket machine.
Save money and the environment by keeping your smartcard in your wallet, and re-using it each time you need a new ticket. You can reuse your existing TravelMaster smartcard by adding new 1 or 7 day tickets onto it on board bus and tram. If you need a new 28 day ticket these can be loaded onto your card from Ticket machines in most of our Interchanges.
