Tram Train route: Part-suspended from 3pm on Friday 14 November

Tram Train route status update

The Tram Train route will be suspended between Meadowhall South (Tinsley) and Parkgate from around 3pm on Friday 14 November to approximately 12pm (midday) on Saturday 15 November 2025.

This is due to Network Rail taking steps to prevent flooding near Rotherham Central after heavy rain from Storm Claudia.

The last Tram Train departure from Cathedral towards Parkgate will be 15:00.
The last Tram Train departure from Meadowhall South towards Parkgate will be 15:17.
The last Tram Train departure from Parkgate towards Sheffield will be 15:31.

During this suspension, Tram Train services will operate as normal between Cathedral and Meadowhall South, and then divert to Meadowhall Interchange. 

Valid tram tickets will be accepted on the following First Bus services in the affected area:
  • X1 and X2 (change between Tram Train and bus services at Meadowhall Interchange)
  • X3 (change between Tram Train and bus services at Meadowhall Interchange)
  • 141 and 142 (for onward connections to Parkgate from Rotherham Interchange)
National Rail services will also be unable to serve Rotherham Central Station.
