Travel advice for Sheffield Donor Run – Saturday 8 August 2026

The 2026 Donor Run will take place on Saturday 8 August in Sheffield city centre. The event, part of the British Transplant Games, will help raise awareness of the NHS Organ Donor Register, benefits of Organ Transplantation, and the Anthony Nolan Register while paying tribute to the Live Donors and Donor Families who have given the gift of life.

The 2.5/5k fun run will start and finish at Barkers Pool, outside Sheffield City Hall.

The ensure the safety of visitors, supporters and those taking part there will be road closures in place in the city centre between 15:30 and 21:30.

Impact on bus services

The city centre road closures between 15:30 and 21:30 will have an effect on bus services, with some services being diverted while the event takes place, as follows

Services 1, 2, 2A, 18, 18A, 20, 24, 25, 47, 48, 56, 65, 75, 75A, 76, 76A, 76E, 81, 82, 83, 86, 88, 97, 98, 218, 272, X1, X2, X6, X17 will divert towards Shoreham Street, Bramall Lane, Moorfoot, London Road, Ecclesall Road from Haymarket and Sheffield Interchange via Fitzalan Square, Pond Street, Flat Street, Pond Street, Paternoster Row, Brown Street, Furnival Street, Eyre Street.
Services 1, 2, 2A, 5, 7, 8, 8A, 20, 24, 47, 48, 56, 75, 75A, 76, 76A, 76E, 83, 86, 88 97, 98, X1, X2, X6 will divert towards Angel Street and Park Square Roundabout from Eyre Street via Furnival Street, Brown Street, Paternoster Row, Pond Street, Flat Street, Harmer Lane/Fitzalan Square.
Services 56, 272 will terminate and commence service in Sheffield Interchange as normal.
Services 65, 81, 82 towards Angel Street, Sheffield Interchange will divert from Ecclesall Road Roundabout via St Mary's Gate, South Lane, Eyre Street, Furnival Street, Paternoster Row, Brown Street, Pond Street, Flat Street, Fitzalan Square.
Service 5 will divert towards Moorfoot from Haymarket via Fitzalan Square Pond Street, Flat Street, Pond Street, Paternoster Row, Brown Street, Furnival Street, Eyre Street, St Mary's Gate, Ecclesall Road Roundabout to turn, St Mary's Gate.
Service 5 will divert towards Firth Park from Eyre Street via Furnival Street, Brown Street, Paternoster Row, Pond Street, Harmer Lane, Sheaf Street.
Service 6 will divert towards Sheffield City Centre via Brook Hill, Brook Hill Roundabout, Upper Hanover Street, Hanover Street, St Mary's Gate, Eyre Street - Resuming normal route on Furnival Street.
Services 10, 10A will divert via Upper Hanover Street, Hanover Way, Eyre Street in their respective directions.
Services 30, 30A, X30 towards Crystal Peaks will divert from Glossop Road via Clarkson Street, Brook Hill, Brook Hill Roundabout, Upper Hanover Street, Hanover Street, St Mary's Gate, Eyre Street, Furnival Street, Brown Street, Paternoster Row, Pond Street, Harmer Lane, Sheaf Street - Resuming normal route on Park Square Roundabout.
Services 43, 44 towards Chesterfield will divert from Sheffield Interchange via Flat Street, Brown Street, Paternoster Row, Furnival Street, Eyre Street.
Services 43, 44 to terminate and commence in Sheffield Interchange.
Service 51 will divert towards Charnock from Western Bank via Brook Hill, Upper Hanover Street, Hanover Way, St Mary's Gate.
Service 51 will divert towards Lodge Moor via Furnival Street, Paternoster Row, Brown Street, Pond Street, Flat Street, Fitzalan Square.
Services 52, 52A, 120, 120K will divert towards Sheffield City Centre via Brook Hill, Brook Hill Roundabout, Upper Hanover Street, Hanover Street, St Mary's Gate, Eyre Street, Furnival Street, Brown Street, Paternoster Row, Pond Street, Flat Street, Fitzalan Square.
Services 57, 57A towards Moorfoot will divert from Furnival Street via Eyre Street, using Bramall Lane roundabout to turn.
Service 95 towards Rotherham Interchange will divert from Upper Hanover Street via Upper Hanover Street, St Mary's Gate, Eyre Street, Furnival Street, Brown Street, Paternoster Row, Pond Street, Sheffield Interchange, Harmer Lane, Sheaf Street.
Services 257, 257A, 257B towards Bakewell will divert from Sheffield Interchange via Flat Street, Fitzalan Square, Commercial Street, High Street, Church Street, West Street.
Services 257, 257A, 257B towards Sheffield Interchange will divert from Glossop Road via Clarkson Street, Brook Hill, Brook Hill Roundabout, Upper Hanover Street, Hanover Street, St Mary's Gate, Eyre Street.
Services 25, 83, 86 operated by First South Yorkshire will commence and terminate at Sheffield Interchange.
Services SC1, SC2 will be suspended during the event. The final departure from Sheffield Interchange will be service SC1 scheduled at 1530.
Tram Replacement services BP1, TT1, YE1 will commence and terminate service at Fitzalan Square CG1 and will be unable to serve Cathedral HS2, City Hall CH3, Rockingham Street RS3, or Sheaf Street SS2 during this time.
Services 6 towards Millhouses, 7, 8, 8A towards Granville Road, 30, 30A, X30, 52, 52A, 120, 120K towards Broomhill, 57, 57A towards Stocksbridge, 95 towards Walkley, X17 towards Barnsley will be unaffected.

Customers should use alternative bus stops on the diversion routes.
