Dore & Totley Park & Ride car park closure

Dore &Totley station car park will see partial and full closures between Monday 12 January and Friday 27 March 2026 to facilitate reconstruction works to Sheaf Bridge over the River Sheaf. This essential work will ensure the long-term integrity and safety of the railway, providing a reliable service for passengers.

Car park closures:

The car park closures will take place in three phases as follows:

Partial closure
Monday 12 January - Thursday 5 February 2026

Half of the car park will be closed to the public to allow for the site compound to be set up. The remaining car parking spaces will continue to be available for customer use. The usual main station entrance and pedestrian entrance/exit routes will be maintained.

Full closure
Friday 6 February – Friday 20 March 2026

There will be a full closure of the car park to the public for around six weeks. This is to allow preparation work to facilitate the bridge and crane entering the site safely and then the reinstatement works to the car park. Alternative pedestrian access to the station will be provided and clearly signposted and access for local businesses will be maintained.

Partial closure
Saturday 21 March – Friday 27 March 2026

Half of the car park will reopen to the public. The usual main station entrance and pedestrian entrance/exit routes will be maintained. The car park is expected to reopen fully on Friday 27 March.

Accessible parking spaces will be unavailable for the duration of the project. To ensure accessibility, designated drop-off spaces will be provided on Ladies Spring Grove.

Both train platforms at Dore & Totley station will remain open and fully accessible throughout these car park closures and train services will run as normal. Clearly signposted diversion routes to and from the station will be in place to guide pedestrians safely around the works.
