Tram Stop Improvements at Meadowhall South

Work is currently underway to enhance the area around Meadowhall South/Tinsley tram stop, managed by the Supertram Facilities team. This project is part of Supertram’s ongoing commitment to improving infrastructure and creating welcoming, accessible spaces across the network.

Meadowhall South is one of our busiest stops, and the surrounding area had become heavily overgrown. The team has already planted more than 450 spring-flowering bulbs and sown wildflower seeds across the banks and soil areas. While the results won’t fully show until early spring, customers and colleagues can expect to see colourful plants throughout much of the year once everything is established. Painting and general tidy-up work has also taken place, with just a few finishing touches still to come.

Mark Blackwell, Facilities & Cleaning Manager at Supertram, said:

“We want our tram stops to feel welcoming and cared for. A bit of colour and greenery makes a real difference to the experience customers have every day. This project is about improving the environment now, but also building a more attractive and sustainable network for the future.”

The initiative follows similar improvements made at Manor Top two years ago, which received excellent feedback, including photos from customers who enjoyed the new planting. With continued success, the team hopes to bring the same approach to other stops across the network, including Crystal Peaks.

Meadowhall South is just the beginning. As part of our long-term programme of improvements, Supertram will continue investing in stops, facilities, and infrastructure to enhance the customer experience and support a cleaner, greener network for years to come.
