Training and support

We understand that feeling safe whilst cycling is of paramount importance. There is a wealth of resources online to help you on your way. Although we would always recommend booking a 1-2-1 session with a qualified cycle trainer to boost your confidence before heading out on your bike.

Here are our ‘Top 3’ sources of information to get you started:

  • Ride Healthy: Offers top tips for new riders and shares the essential skills to build up your confidence.
  • Cycling UKAdvice for beginners on how to learn to ride a bike and ways to get started.
  • HSBC British Cycling Commute Start: Learn how to commute with confidence with these series of videos suited for both experienced and new cycle commuters.

Free local cycle training

To compliment how-to guides and online videos, we strongly recommend booking on to a  cycle training session. These sessions are often funded by your local councils; however, provision of sessions may have been affected recently by Coronavirus and impacted by issues relating to social distancing.
