Parkgate Link Road, Park & Ride and Taylors Lane roundabout scheme consultation
We are working on proposals for a Parkgate Link Road, Park & Ride and Taylors Lane roundabout scheme to ease congestion and improve air quality on the A633 corridor between Rotherham Town Centre and the Dearne Valley.
Our proposals aim to create greener travel opportunities in the area by improving traffic flow, public transport connectivity, reliability and journey times, as well as walking and cycling routes.
The Parkgate Link Road, Park & Ride and Taylors Lane roundabout scheme includes a proposed:
New link road from Aldwarke Lane into Parkgate Shopping (Stadium Way), with a roundabout tie in at Aldwarke Lane
New 300-space Park & Ride facility at the Parkgate Shopping Tram Train terminus
Wider entry and exit on the A633 southern arm of Taylors Lane roundabout, and extension of the 2-lane sections in both directions
We asked for people's views to help shape our proposals for the Parkgate Link Road, Park & Ride and Taylors Lane roundabout scheme in a public consultation held between Monday 15 March and Friday 16 April 2021.
Feedback from the consultation will help to develop our full planning application for the Scheme, which we will submit to Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council.
Online Q&A sessions took place on Wednesday 24 March and Tuesday 6 April:
The proposed Parkgate Link Road, Park & Ride and Taylors Lane roundabout scheme will be delivered by SYPTE and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and is part of Sheffield City Region’s £166 million Transforming Cities Fund.
