#StaySafeSaveLives - Do not use public transport unless you need to

Public transport in South Yorkshire might look different for a while. Please be patient while we all get used to a new way of travelling. And please only travel if you need to.

Reduced timetables will operate until further notice, with most bus services operating a reduced, hourly or Sunday service with some additional journeys to protect shift work and key worker journeys.

More information, including rail travel updates is available on our Service Changes page.

More information on how we're working to keep you updated is on our Coronavirus page.

  • Doncaster Town Centre - Social Distancing Changes from 20/05

  • 19/05/2020 09:59:26 Posted:

From the start of service on Wednesday 20 May buses normally using Cleveland Street, Wood Street, Hallgate, Princes Street and Silver Street, will be diverted via Waterdale.

This is to assist with social distancing in Doncaster town centre, providing more area for queuing at shops and keeping pedestrian movements as spread out as possible. Queues at busy stops would risk social distancing breaches and conflict with queues outside businesses. Therefore, the following changes will be in place:

Service 15 will serve Waterdale (stop WD1), and will then serve stops on East Laithe Gate, Nether Hall Road and Market Road as normal.

Services 66, 81 and 82 to serve Waterdale (stop WD1) and the first temporary stop on Thorne Rd (opposite Christ Church).

Services 84 and 87 to serve Waterdale (stop WD1) and the second temporary stop on Thorne Rd (opposite Christ Church).

Services 21, 29, 55, and 73 will serve the first temporary stop on Waterdale (the temporary stop furthest from the shelter). These services will then serve their normal stops at Regent Square.

Services 57c, 57f, 58f and 399 will serve the second temporary stop on Waterdale (the temporary stop nearest the shelter). These services will then serve their normal stops at Regent Square.

Service 56 will not serve any town centre stops after leaving the interchange. All passengers must use Frenchgate to board this serivce.

    Alighting passengers

All inbound services normally using Wood Street and Cleveland Street will instead use Waterdale and College Road before going to the interchange.

Alighting only stops will be provided on Waterdale (outside the Civic Building) as well as stops already in place on College Road.

There will be notices on bus stops on Cleveland Street, Wood Street, Hallgate, Princes Street and Thorne Road.
