East Midlands Trains strike action

East Midlands Trains Services

Owing to a dispute over pension payments East Midlands drivers, who are members of ASLEF, have voted for strike action.

These strikes are scheduled for:

May 17 (Thursday)

Should these occur then the following revisions to services in South Yorkshire will be made:

London Services

Only the following trains will operate:

From Sheffield to London	From London to Sheffield
0627	0637
0727	0930
0927	1030
1227	1125
1327	1230
1427	1330
1527	1730
1627
2039

At other times passengers from London should either:

Travel to Doncaster and catch any service to London
Use Cross Country Trains to Derby and pick up the Derby - London service which runs hourly

Norwich – Nottingham – Sheffield – Liverpool Services

No trains on this route:

Passengers from Sheffield - Manchester or Liverpool: use Trans Pennine Express or Northern services Sheffield - Manchester and connect if required to Liverpool services
Passengers Sheffield- Nottingham: use Northern service
Passengers Sheffield- Peterborough and stations to Norwich: train to Doncaster then connect with the London services which stop at Peterborough and connect with Cross Country or Greater Anglia to Ely and then Greater Anglia to Norwich .

Doncaster- Lincoln Direct

This service will not run:

Passengers should use the Northern route via Sheffield

Tickets

Any EMT advance tickets may be used on the day before or after on EMT services only

Advance tickets will be valid on alternative routes on strike days as long as travel is at a similar time to that originally booked.

This industrial action affects East Midlands Trains only – other operator’s trains will run as normal.

Weekends Roadworks in Kirk Sandall

In an amendment to the original diversion information, we have been advised of the following changes.

First South Yorkshire service 83 will follow the diversion until it reaches the roundabout on Thorne Road, at which point it will turn left onto Armthorpe Lane, then left onto Brecks Lane (this will mean it is traveling in the wrong direction along Brecks Lane), then it will turn right at the traffic lights onto Doncaster Road, follow that onto Barnby Dun Road and pick up it's usual route.

First Service 85 will be the reverse of the above.

This is due to Church Balk not being able to cope with the amount of traffic being forced to use it.

First South Yorkshire service 76 will now operate via Jefferson Avenue, Wilberforce Road and Livingstone Avenue.

Barnby Dun Road, Kirk Sandall, Doncaster will be closed each Saturday and Sunday from Saturday 17^th March until Sunday 27^th May to permit drainage works and the lowering of the carriageway. The road will remain open Monday to Friday.

Buses on First South Yorkshire services 68, 83, 84 and 85 will divert between Barnby Dun Road and Brecks Lane via Wheatley Hall Road, Thorne Road, Church Balk and Doncaster Road. x

Buses on First South Yorkshire service 76 will operate as normal to Jefferson Avenue then via Wilberforce Road, Shackleton Road and Livingstone Road to terminate opposite the existing stop. Returning via Livingstone Road, Jefferson Avenue, Wheatley Hall Road, loop round Thorne Road roundabout and Wheatley Hall Road.
