Explore Weston Park Museum
Housed in Weston Hall – a neo-classical building located in Weston Park, Sheffield - this museum tells the story of the city from pre-history to present days. Its collection includes exhibitions about Sheffield Woodlands and its creatures and about the city’s social history, from Neolithic carvings in the Peak District to its proud steel making heritage and the miners’ strike.

The museum is free, but donations are encouraged.
What is the best thing about the place/attraction?
Apart from its permanent collection – a big hit specially with the younger ones – the museum hosts temporary exhibitions which are always displayed in an engaging way and offers talks and activities for under 5 year olds, such as crafting sessions and story-telling.
When is the best time to visit?
Its setting makes it perfect for a lovely day out any time of the year. There’s plenty to keep you entertained inside on cold rainy days and the lovely gardens are perfect for a stroll or a picnic on sunnier times.
Facilities available?
The museum café caters for different needs, offering tea, cakes, soup, jacket potatoes, salads, sandwiches and hot meals. There’s a gift shop, toilets, baby changing facilities and lockers and buggy/pram storage space in the foyer.
Accessibility?
The museum is fully wheelchair accessible, as all the exhibitions are on the ground floor. There are also wheelchairs available to borrow on request, hearing loops available in the activity room and the shop, and large print information sheets on the exhibitions. There are also brochures and flyers on large print, on request.

Snowy, the polar bear that lives in the Arctic World room was chosen by visitors as the Museum’s most loved object. In the same room, the children can build a mini igloo.
