Disruptions

Football diversions around Hillsborough Stadium will take affect 2 hours (1000) before kick off and will last for 2 hours (1545) after the final whistle.

Services 31, 81, 82, 52a, 57, 97 & 98 that operate in Hillsborough centre may be subject to on the day diversions between the times noted.

Blue and Yellow route services will not be operating from Cathedral to Malin Bridge or Middlewood Park & Ride between 1000 and 1500.

The trams will be replaced by bus replacement service YE1.

The YE1 will operate between High Street/HS2 and Middlewood Rark & Ride.
Service YE1 will operate every 12 minutes starting at 1010 at High Street/HS2.
UPDATE - operating via Infirmary Road, Flora Street, Penistone Road (non stop), Parkside Road and returning to published route to Middlewood Park & Ride and reverse. 

Ticket acceptance is also in place on First services 8/52a/81/82/86 between 10:00-15:00 from City Centre to Middlewood/Malin Bridge.

Trams will continue to operate as normal on other parts of the network (between Sheffield city centre and Halfway, Herdings Park, Meadowhall Interchange and Parkgate).

Tram Train services will divert to Meadowhall Interchange. The last service to Parkgate will depart Cathedral at 17:00, and the last service to Cathedral will depart Parkgate at 17:31. 

Supertram replacement bus service TT1 is timetabled to connect to tram services at Meadowhall South and will serve Rotherham Central and Parkgate.

Services 2, 57, 57A will divert to Moorfoot via Moore St, St Mary's Gate, Eyre Street. Towards Stocksbridge/Barnsley normal route.

Service 6 will Divert via Moore Street, St Mary's Gate, Eyre Street

Service 65 will divert via St Mary's Gate, Eyre Street

Service 86 will divert to Lowedges via Moore Street, St Mary's Gate, Brammall Lane Roundabout, London Road. Towards Chapeltown via St Mary's Gate, Eyre Street

Services 83, 88 will Divert to Chapeltown/Ecclesfield via St Mary's Gate/Eyre Street

Services 20, 56, 75, 75a, 76, 76a, 76e, 97, 98, 798 & 798a leaving City Centre will divert via Moore Street, Young Street (serving the temporary stop) then South Lane.

Services 20, 56, 75, 75a, 76, 76a, 76e, 97, 98, 798 & 798a towards City Centre will divert via London Road, St Marys Gate, turn around at Moore Street roundabout, St Marys Gate, Bramall Lane roundabout and Eyre Street.

Services 18, 18a, 24, 47, 48, 51 & 73  leaving City Centre divert via Furnival Square roundabout, Eyre Street (serving the Fire Station stop) and Bramall Lane roundabout.

Services  81, 82, 272, 779 & 785  towards City Centre divert via Moore Street roundabout, St Marys Gate, Bramall Lane roundabout and Eyre Street.

Services X1, X2, X6 will divert via Furnival Square roundabout, Eyre Street (serving the Fire Station stop), Bramall Lane roundabout and Eyre Street

Service 257 will divert via Moore Street, St Mary's Gate, Eyre Street

Services SC1, SC2 will divert via Moore Street, Moore Street Roundabout, St Mary's Roundabout to resume normal service on Eyre Street

Service 376 is diverted via Church Way and Market Roundabout in both directions.

Service 20 will divert via Southey Hill and Wordsworth Avenue in both directions.

Service 83 will divert from Adlington road roundabout via Deerlands Avenue Wordsworth Avenue and Southey Hill in both directions.

Service M44 will divert through Frecheville along Linley Lane, Alport Road, Youlgreave Drive, Linley Lane, Birley Moor Road and Silkstone Road.

Service M45 will divert through Frecheville along Silkstone Road, Birley Moor Road, Linley Lane, Youlgreave Drive, Alport Road and Linley Lane.

Service 361 to divert via Arksey Lane, The Avenue and Victoria Road in both directions.

Service 363 to turn around at the end of The Avenue and returning via The Avenue and Arksey Lane.

Service 86 will divert via Ash View and Chapel Road in both directions

Service 3 to divert via New Broom Pub Roundabout, Brunswick Road, Broom Lane in both directions.

Services 1,2/2A,88 will divert between Lady's Bridge and Barnsley Road via Pitsmoor Road, Bridgehouses Roundabout, Nursery Street. This is in both directions.

Service 20 towards Ecclesfield diverted via Angel Street, Castle Street, Waingate, Ladys Bridge, Nursery Street, Bridgehouses & Pitsmoor Road.

Services 47, 48 towards Shiregreen will divert via Ladys Bridge, Nursery Street, Bridgehouses and Pitsmoor Road.

Services 76, 76a & 76e towards Meadowhall will divert via Ladys Bridge, Nursery Street, Bridgehouses and Pitsmoor Road.

Services 1,2,2a,20,32,47,48,76,76e and 88 towards Sheffield Centre will divert via Pitsmoor Road, Bridgehouses, Nursery Street and Ladys Bridge.

Services 18,18a,207,X3 and X17 will divert via Attercliffe Common and Weedon Street in both directions.

Service 94a (Stagecoach) is unable to serve Cawthorne and will divert via Silkstone Lane and Lane Head Road , in both directions.

We are awaiting further information from Globe and South Pennine regarding their services .

Services 73, 95, 95s & X3 from Rotherham Interchange will divert via Bridge Street, Centenary Way, Main Street & Westgate.     

Services 136, 137, 138 from Rotherham Interchange towards Kimberworth to divert via Bridge Street College Road, Centenary Way to the u turn to resume route on Masbrough Street.

Hillsborough Stadium - Sheffield Wednesday Home Games

When Leppings Lane (only) closes:
Services 18, 31, 97 & 98 TOWARDS Hillsborough Interchange will divert along Penistone Road, then turn right along Bradfield Rd to Hillsborough Corner.
Services FROM Hillsborough Interchange will turn left onto Langsett Rd, left down Bamforth St, then left along Penistone Rd.

Additionally due to parked cars on Donovan Road, Service 98 will operate via the 97 route for the duration of a game

Bramall Lane Stadium -Sheffield United Home Games

Bramall Lane will close for a substantial period. Shoreham Street will also close sporadically between Alderson Road & Charlotte Road Roundabout.
Services 11, 18 & MAN4 will divert via Queens Road, Charlotte Road, Shoreham Street & St Mary's Road in both directions.
Service 252 will divert via Queens Road, Granville Square and St. Mary's Road in both directions.

TO GET THERE:
Shoreham Street: Services 1, 11, 24, 25 & 51.
Queens Road: Services 70/70a.

Note: If Shoreham Street is closed, then 1, 11, 18, 24, 41, 51, 252 & MAN4 services will all divert via Queens Road, Granville Square & St Mary's Road in both directions.

Every Barnsley FC Home Game

Schwabisch Gmund Way gets closed for Barnsley FC home games.

Service 2 will divert via Harborough Hill and Eldon Street North in both directions during the times stated above on match days.

Services 27b, 28 and 32, although not diverted, these will be subject to delay along Pontefract Road near Oakwell Stadium.

Several roads in the vicinity of the Football Ground are also subject to Traffic Restriction Orders before and after each game.

New York Stadium -Rotherham United Home Games

When Main Street closes:

Services 73, 95 & X3 from Rotherham will re-divert via Bridge Street, Centenary Way & Ickles roundabout (73 & 95 services then Sheffield Road, Old Sheffield Road & Canklow Road). To Rotherham unaffected.

Services 137 and 138 towards Rotherham will turn left on Centenary Way, College Road Roundabout, then Bridge Street.
FROM Rotherham will divert via Chantry Bridge, Greasbrough Road & Centenary Way, then U turn back to Masbrough Street.

TO GET THERE:
Approx 5-10 min walk from Rotherham Interchange via Corporation Street and Main Street
Approx 5-10 walk from Rotherham Central, side of Canal, past Poolice station then onto Main Street

Hillsborough Stadium

Service 86 - This diversion will be in place 1 hour before kick off until 30 minutes after full time. It will be on normal route either side of this.

Towards Low Edges
The service will follow the route as normal to the bottom of Fox Hill Crescent. After that it will turn left up Fox Hill Road and then right onto Wilcox Road. It will carry on to the lights where it will turn right onto Halifax Road, back on normal route.

Towards Chapeltown
Instead of turning left onto Fox Hill Road, the service will follow Halifax Road to the traffic lights (junction with Wilcox Road). At that point it will turn left onto Wilcox Road. At the end of Wilcox Road the service will turn right onto Fox Hill Road and follow the normal 86 route to Low Edges until it reaches the bottom of Fox Hill Crescent. 
It will then turn left onto Fox Hill Road, then finally right onto Wilcox Road - back on normal line of route.

Service 98 will divert via Southey Green Road and Wordsworth Avenue in both directions

Services 38, 57, 59, 59a diverted via Burton Road in both directions.

Service 488 Awaiting confirmation from the operator

Service 782 to divert via Foster Way, Greengate Lane, Worrall Road, Blackburn Drive, Burnscross Road & Bracken Hill in both Directions.

Services 18 and 18a diverted via Warminster Road, Thorpe House Avenue & the Thorpe House loop in both directions.

No stops affected. But will use Thorpe House Ave stop first on the Loop

Service 115 will divert via Laudsdale Road

Services 19, 19A, X5 will divert via Hangsman Lane, School Road, High Street, Rotherham Lane, Laughton Lane in both directions.

Services 73 and 95 will divert via Bradfield Way in both directions

Service 56 to divert via Southend Road,Manor Lane and Harbrough avenue in both directions

Effective from Monday 29th September 2025, until further notice:

Service X1 will divert via Wickersley Road and Broom Road, not serving Middle Lane South or Badsley Moor Lane, during the above times.

Service 114 will continue to serve stops on Middle Lane South near Spenser Road and Longfellow Drive.

As soon as suitable tree pruning can safely be completed by RMBC, service X1 will resume along the normal route.

Service 355,356 and 455 will divert via Central Drive between Grange Lane and Gattison Lane, In both directions, until further notice.

Towards Ridgewood School, service 441 will start from Melton Road at the junction with Castle Grove then operate via Melton Road, Sprotbrough Road, St Mary's Roundabout, York Road and Barnsley Road before arriving at Ridgewood School.

Towards Sprotbrough, service 441 will depart from Ridgewood School then operate via Barnsley Road, Blacksmith's Lane, Hangman Stone Road, Doncaster Road, Melton Road and Sprotbrough Road before terminating at Tennyson Avenue.

For the morning journey, please use bus stops on the opposite side of the road.

There is no change to the timetable.

Towards Ridgewood School, service 442 will start from Melton Road at the junction with Ingleborough Drive then operate via Melton Road, Thorpe Lane, Main Street, turn at the triangle, Thorpe Lane, Melton Road, Sprotbrough Road, St Mary's Roundabout, York Road and Barnsley Road before arriving at Ridgewood School.

Towards Sprotbrough, service 442 will start from Ridgewood School then operate via Barnsley Road, York Road, St Mary's Roundabout, Sprotbrough Road, Melton Road, Thorpe Lane, Main Street, turn at the triangle, Thorpe Lane and Melton Road before terminating at Ingleborough Drive.

Please note:  In an afternoon, the bus will run direct from Ridgewood School to Sprotbrough and the first drop off point will be on Melton Road at the junction with Spring Lane.

There is no change to the timetable.

Towards Ridgewood School, service 441 will operate as normal to Thorpe Lane at the junction with Melton Road then operate via Melton Road, Sprotbrough Road, St Mary's Roundabout, York Road and Barnsley Road before arriving at Ridgewood School.

Towards Goldthorpe, service 540 will depart from Ridgewood School and operate via Barnsley Road, York Road, St Mary's Roundabout, Sprotbrough Road and Melton Road before resuming normal route on Thorpe Lane.

There is no change to the timetable.

Towards Ridgewood School, service 541 will remain unchanged.

Towards Sprotbrough, service 541 will depart from Ridgewood School then operate via Barnsley Road, York Road, St Mary's Roundabout, Sprotbrough Road, Melton Road, Thorpe Lane, Main Street, turn at the triangle, Thorpe Lane, Melton Road and Sprotbrough Road before terminating at Mayfield Road.

Please note:  In an afternoon, the bus will run direct from Ridgewood School to Sprotbrough and the first drop off point will be on Melton Road at the junction with Spring Lane.

There is no change to the timetable.

Towards Ridgewood School, service 542 will operate as normal to Melton Road at the junction with Spring Lane then operate via Melton Road, Sprotbrough Road, St Mary's Roundabout, York Road and Barnsley Road before arriving at Ridgewood School.

Towards Mexborough, service 542 will depart from Ridgewood School then operate via Barnsley Road, York Road, St Mary's Roundabout, Sprotbrough Road and Melton Road before resuming normal route at the junction with Spring Lane.

There is no change to the timetable.

Services 18, 18a, 73 & MAN4 Services will divert via Queens Road, Charlotte Road, Shoreham Street & St Marys in both directions.

Service 207 towards Sheffield to divert via Bawtry Road to the roundabout and then 5th Exit on to Sheffield Road.

Service 207 toward Rotherham Normal Route

Service 20 to divert via Laughton Road and Rose Lane in both directions.

Services 371,372 and 472
Services are to operate via Trafford Way, Cleveland Street right into St Sepulchre Gate West resuming route when turning left onto St James’s Bridge.

Unable to serve the bus stop behind the Health Centre

Service 73 and 95 to divert straight along Main Street and Orgreave Road in both directions.

Service 71 to divert via Sheffield Road, Rotherham Road, Highfield Spring, Poplar Way, Europa Link and back to normal route from Europa Court in both directions.

Services 387 and 388 are to operate directly along Marshland Road, Turn Right Grange Road (opposite Premier) and Left Northgate to resume normal route. 

Morning Services that start on Wembley Road will need to wait time on Marshland Road (By the Library) before diverting as above.

Services 2, 7, 66 and 72 to divert along Hawshaw Lane and Market Street in both directions.

Service 73 and 95 to divert via New Brinsworth Road in both directions between the Catcliffe and The Three Magpies roundabout.

Service 207 to divert via Canklow bridge, Whitehill Lane, around the Howarth estate, back down Whitehill Lane, Bawtry Road (Caravans) & Brinsworth Lane in both directions.

Service 20 to run normal route to Burrs Lane then divert via Red Quarry Lane, Lodge Lane, Lidgett Lane, Swinston Hill Road to serve the High Nook estate in North Anston, Lordens Hill then resuming normal route from New Road.

Woodsetts will not be able to be served at this time.
