'Yellow' to ofo bikes!

images

This week Sheffield has taken delivery of 500 bright yellow ofo bikes which are located around the city.

The number of dockless bikes is set to double in the next few weeks and they can be hired for free until 23 January. After this date, riders will be charged 50p per half-hour up to a maximum of £5 a day.

Ofo bikes aim to provide affordable urban travel which can help ease congestion, reduce carbon emissions, save energy and promote better living. The bikes, which weigh 15kg and have a basket on the front, solar powered lights and are suitable for riders of almost any height or weight.

Accessing an ofo bike is easy for anyone who has a smart phone. Simply download the ofo app (iOS or Android) and enter the basic information required for registration and your preferred payment choice. You then access the map function to find the nearest ofo bike to you and you can scan the QR code on the lock or mudguard (on input the code manually if you prefer). Once you’ve finished your ride, park your bike in an appropriate location and tap ‘trip complete’ on the app.
