
Hillsborough and Middlewood Disruption: Friday 18 to Sunday 20 April
Works will take place to enhance road conditions and improve the Supertram network, affecting trams, local buses and road users

Hillsborough Interchange and several roads in Hillsborough and Middlewood will be closed during the Easter weekend.
This is to enable a number of roadworks in the local area, which are being completed simultaneously to help minimise disruption as much as possible. Work will be taking place to:
- Repair the concrete track bed at Hillsborough Corner
- Renew tram tracks at Hillsborough Interchange
- Renew tram tracks near Middlewood Park and Ride, on Middlewood Road
- Renew parts of the tram overhead line equipment on Middlewood Road
Signed diversions will be in place for road users in the affected areas, and local bus services will stop at alternative bus stops along diversion routes.

Hillsborough Interchange customer services are available to provide journey planning support, and will be open for extended hours on Friday 18, Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 April.

Changes to local bus services
To ensure work can be carried out safely, various roads will be closed and bus services will be unable to access Hillsborough Interchange, instead diverting to alternative and temporary bus stops.

Temporary bus stop in Hillsborough
Hillsborough Interchange will be closed to buses for 3 days from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 April.
Bus services will use other stops on the route in the local area, some services will also use a temporary stop on Owlerton Green outside Swann Morton Penn Works:

Please note that services will attempt to operate as close as possible to their regular timetable, but there may be delays and adjustments due to diversion routes and traffic.
As this stop is temporary, seating and shelter will not be available, and timetable information will not be able to be displayed. The step between the pavement and the bus may be larger than normal, please ask the bus driver if you require additional assistance.

Changes to Supertram sevices
Blue and Yellow route services
From Friday 18 to Sunday 20 April inclusive, Blue route services will operate between Shalesmoor/Kelham Island and Halfway, and Yellow route services will operate between Cathedral and Meadowhall Interchange (with some journeys extending to Shalesmoor/Kelham Island).
Supertram replacement bus services will operate in the affected areas. Please note that some bus stop locations will vary depending on the day, check before you travel.
Purple route and Tram Train services will be unaffected by these works.

Road closures and traffic management
Information about the timing and location of road closures is available in this section. Detailed information has been posted to residents and businesses in the local area. Signposted diversions will be in place.

- Langsett Road closed to traffic travelling from Ripley Street towards Rudyard Road.
- Forbes Road closed.
- Hillsborough Interchange closed.
19:00 on Friday 18 April to 07:00 on Saturday 19 April 2025
- Middlewood Road closed to traffic travelling straight ahead from Langsett Road but open to left-turning traffic travelling from Holme Lane.
- Langsett Road closed at its junction with Bradfield Road/Holme Lane.
- Temporary three-way traffic lights at the junction of Bradfield Road and Holme Lane.
19:00 on Saturday 19 April to 07:00 on Sunday 20 April 2025
- Middlewood Road closed at its junction with Bradfield Road and Holme Lane.
- Langsett Road open for right-turning traffic (buses only) from Holme Lane and for left-turning traffic from Bradfield Road. Temporary three-way traffic lights at the junction of Bradfield Road, Holme Lane and Langsett Road.
05:00 to 23:00 on Sunday 20 April 2025
- Middlewood Road closed between Marion Road and Harris Road (football training ground car park entrance).
