Delegated Fund
The Rural Transport team, working in partnership with Yorkshire Forward, is responsible for administering the Delegated Fund. The fund offers the opportunity for organisations such as community groups, charities and parish councils to provide solutions to quite specific small-scale local transport problems. Eligible projects would enhance the accessibility or quality of transport or could even reduce the need to travel for people in rural communities.
Grants might be awarded for things such as:
- publicising a local transport scheme
- walking & cycling initiatives
- the cost of hiring a minibus
- small-scale infrastructure projects
- training of staff and volunteers
Amount available and how to apply:
Grants awarded through the Delegated Fund can cover up to 75% of a project’s total costs and can range from £100 up to £3,000.
Organisations will need to find the remaining 25% of costs, which can include a valuation of volunteers’ time. However, grants for £1,000 or less can be offered 100% funding.
Grants are awarded subject to satisfactory completion of a relatively simple application process.
