Travelling by Tram

A guide for tram users with disabilities or restricted mobility.

Sheffield is served by a modern tram network – Supertram. It is accessible to all, providing low-floor, easy access.

For those who live further from a tram stop, there are different ways of accessing the network, including the SupertramLink service and use of Park and Ride sites.

Trams and tram stops all have the following:

  • ramped platform approaches and tactile paving to locate tram doors
  • bright external destination displays to the front and side of all trams
  • level boarding and alighting
  • wide entrances
  • no steps in the entrance areas
  • two priority wheelchair spaces available on each tram
  • priority seating for both elderly and disabled passengers
  • contrasting handrails
  • audio and visual next stop information on board
  • space for pushchairs and buggies
  • conductor.
