Carbon Quids Scheme

At a time when general awareness of environmental issues increases and we recognise the need for change, Travel South Yorkshire brought you the Carbon Quids scheme.

What is the scheme about?

The launch of the Carbon Quids scheme allowed the people of South Yorkshire to do their bit for the environment through sustainable methods of travel, whilst earning points towards a range of exciting gifts.

As part of European Mobility Week, here in South Yorkshire the launch of Carbon Quids scheme was an exciting initiative aimed at encouraging the use of alternative methods of travel throughout the region as we look to safeguard our health and future.

Through this, we aimed to increase awareness of what is at stake should we continue to travel in unsustainable ways, and show our region in a brighter light through reduced motorised traffic within our county.

An award winning scheme

Carbon Quids recently won a National Travelwise Award for Best Travel Awareness Event at the award ceremony held in Belfast earlier this month. Read more in the recent news release.
