Is responsible for providing the public transport environment – bus stops and shelters, interchanges, rail stations and Park & Ride sites – that makes up the Travel South Yorkshire network. The South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive also provides timetables, journey planners and personalised travel advice to individuals and organisations.
Local Councils
Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield Councils provide investment in bus lanes and other bus priority measures, new rail and bus stations, Park & Ride sites and other sustainable travel measures that support and improve the operation of the Travel South Yorkshire public transport network.
Public Transport Operators
Operators such as First, Stagecoach, Supertram and Northern Rail along with many others provide the bus, tram and train services that go to create the Travel South Yorkshire public transport network.
The Travel South Yorkshire partners are working together to invest in and improve facilities and services, and to provide better passenger information.
South Yorkshire Local Transport Plan
The South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive and the four local councils also make up the South Yorkshire Local Transport Plan (SYLTP) Partnership. The objectives of the South Yorkshire LTP Partnership are to support economic growth by developing and maintaining an integrated transport system and enhancing the overall quality of life for the people of South Yorkshire.
