Services for Rural Communities

Rural autumn scene

Public transport links are an essential part of life for rural communities. Without them, accessing work or leisure opportunities would be difficult - or even impossible - for many people.

And people living in urban areas are looking for more environmentally-friendly ways to get into the countryside for a family day out without the car.

South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE), a member of the Travel South Yorkshire (TSY)partnership, subsidises a network of rural bus and community transport services as well as providing travel information and infrastructure such as shelters and bus stops.

SYPTE's aim is to improve accessibility to public transport and make it a better travel choice for all.

Within this section of the website you can find rural travel information and update yourself on rural transport topics.

If you require any more information on the work of the SYPTE Network Accessibility Rural Team, please contact us or call Traveline on 01709 51 51 51.
