Citizens of South Yorkshire are now able to find out where their next bus is, from the comfort of the sofa rather than waiting outside at the bus stop.
The YourNextBus service has been integrated into the Looking Local service available on digital interactive TV.
By using the remote control viewers can check when their next bus is due before leaving the house.
How to access Looking Local?
We are very pleased to announce that your site on SKY will be accessible via Directgov from Thursday 10th December 2009.
With TV keys dropping from the SKY platform – this will be the new way into your site and should deliver a significant improvement to usage in the longer term.
The existing route into your SKY service will remain live until the end of December.
This is the first phase of our partnership working with Directgov with plans afoot to further improve visibility of local services on SKY as well as linking up our services on all other channels we support (e.g. Virgin Media, mobile, Wii etc). More to come on that in due course, but in the meantime, please notethat the pathway on SKY will now be:
Step 1
- Press Interactive #8 (Directgov)
- Press ‘Select’ on welcome page
- Press ‘1 – Local Services’
Step 2
- Select appropriate regional menu
