The majority of buses in South Yorkshire now have low accessible floors, making them fully accessible for your needs. Every fully accessible bus can accommodate one ‘reference sized’ wheelchair.
A ‘reference sized’ wheelchair has a maximum length of 1200mm and a maximum width of 700mm. Please check your wheelchair specifications before boarding an accessible bus. Unfortunately unlike wheelchairs, there is no national legislation requiring bus operators to accept mobility scooters on board. Make sure you check with the bus service you are using before boarding an accessible bus.
