Travel assistance for school and college students
Are you about to leave school? Are you unsure as to what travel tickets are available to you? Don't worry, Travel South Yorkshire can help.
When you reach the age of 16 and leave Year 11, you can no longer use your MegaTravel pass. However, don’t worry there are still plenty of options available to travel around South Yorkshire by public transport. Browse around this page to find out what your options are.

If you carry on studying
If you stay in full-time education you can apply for a 16-18 Student pass, available to use from the start of the September term, this will be valid until the end of term in July. Make sure you apply early to receive your pass in time for the start of the new term. Visit the 16-18 Student pass page for more information on how to apply.
If you plan to make a lot of journeys, a Student TravelMaster could save you time and money.
This ticket is available to college students and is valid on all buses, trams and trains in South Yorkshire at a reduced price of £157.50 per term*. If this ticket sparks interest like a sale in your favourite clothes shop, then it could be the perfect fit for you. Find out more, simply contact your college’s Student Services Office.

If you go to work, a training course or apprenticeship
If you leave full-time education to enter employment or start a training course or apprenticeship, you can still take advantage of discounted travel with a 16-19 TravelMaster. There is also a discounted 19-21 TravelMaster available whether you choose to carry on studying, training or going into work. Both are available at our information centres. You will need an up-to-date passport-size photo to purchase a 16-19 TravelMaster or a 19-21 TravelMaster.
If you are unemployed or on a low income
If you find yourself out of work or on a low income, you could be eligible for an Off Peak TravelMaster available at our information centres. You will need an up-to-date passport-size photo to purchase an Off Peak TravelMaster. Visit the Off Peak Travelmaster page for more information on how to apply.
