Did you know that whilst you are out and about you can view live departure information for your local bus service? Travel South Yorkshire offers live departure displays at some bus stops around South Yorkshire.
Bus stop displays Sheffield city centre bus stops Kiosks
Some bus stops within South Yorkshire are now displaying live departure information on display screens.
The screens show you the live departure time of your bus service whilst you wait.
Although not all bus stops currently have this information, you can still use the YourNextBus service via your mobile phone by texting your bus stop number to find out when your bus will depart. However, if the display is not available at your stop, there will continue to be printed timetable and service information displayed on the stop.
Live departure information is also available on some of the Sheffield city centre 'Connect' stops. These stops are part of the ‘Connect’ project currently being developed by Sheffield City Council (www.sheffield.gov.uk). Its brief is to develop an identity for information and communication within a city wide pedestrian wayfinding system, including new public transport shelters. Their look is very different to typical bus shelters currently used in and around South Yorkshire. For more information, please see the Connecting Sheffield section (www.sheffield.gov.uk) on the Sheffield City Council website.
Kiosks are passenger information units located in areas of high pedestrian footfall. Live departure information is provided as well as other information relevant to the travelling public.
Designed for all weather, these robust columns are easily indentifiable by their Travel South Yorkshire branding.
