Station Road Closure, Halfway-Killamarsh

Station Road will be closed between Rother Valley Way and Forge Lane from 19:30 Saturday 4th February until 06:00 Monday 6th February.

Service 49 will divert from Windmill Greenway to Killamarsh via Eckington, Renishaw, Spinkhill, Westhorpe and Upperthorpe. This service will not be able to serve stops on Rotherham Road between Windmill Greenway and Station Road, plus stops on Station Road/Sheffield Road between Halfway and Walford Road, Killamarsh.

Route of 49 in Killamarsh - From the Nags Head (Upperthorpe Road), then High Street and left onto Shepcote Lane to pick up normal route at Rowan Tree Road. Towards Sheffield normal to Rowan Tree Road then right on Shepcote Lane and right onto High Street again to the Nag's Head then via Diversion back to Halfway.

Service 71 will divert from Eckington, Church Street via Renishaw, Spinkhill and Westthorpe, picking up the normal route at Upperthorpe (Westthorpe Road - Nag's Head). Buses will then run normally via High Moor, Norwood and Killamarsh (Sheffield Road) then via Bridge Street, High Street, Sheepcote Road, Rowan tree Road and Westfield Road to Upperthorpe (Cherry Tree Drive) before returning via the reverse of the diversion route through Westthorpe, Spinkhill etc.

Sections of route not served will be Rotherham Road (Eckington - Halfway) and Station Road/Sheffield Road (Halfway - Holbrook - Killamarsh). Buses will run non-stop between Eckington (Church Street) and Upperthorpe (Westhorpe Road - Nag's Head from Chesterfield/Cherry Tree Drive to Chesterfield).

It has been agreed that the 71 journey at 19:35 on Saturday from Killamarsh will be allowed through the closure.

Gas leak - Maltby

There is a gas leak near to 107 Rotherham Road Maltby (approx 200m after the Addison Road junction opposite the garage/car wash). Traffic signals had to be installed last night and will be in place today and until this evening. This introduces a second set of signals within a very short section due to the work at Addison Road.

RMBC are working with the contractors to minimise disruption. The signals will be manually controlled at peak times to try to reduce queuing traffic. Delays to be expected

Stagecoach Industrial Action February

Planned Industrial Action is scheduled to take place on:

Saturday 4^th February

Monday 6^th February

Wednesday 8^th February

Friday 10^th February

On these days Stagecoach Bus Services in Barnsley, Rotherham and the Dearne Valley will operate the majority of daytime services between 7am and 6pm only.

All Stagecoach buses in Sheffield (including the route 265 to Barnsley) and Chesterfield and those operated by Stagecoach East Midlands in South Rotherham and Doncaster as well as Stagecoach Supertram and Megabus will run as normal and are unaffected.

All school services will operate as normal

A special £1 flat single fare for adults will apply (in the Barnsley, Rotherham and Dearne Valley Area) on the affected services.

All valid prepaid tickets, Megarider, TravelMaster and concessions will be accepted.

Stagecoach buses will not serve the stops outside (37030758) and opposite (37035056) the Rawmarsh depot. - First service 22 will continue to serve these stops.

Due to system changes, there may be limited live information available for First Group bus services through the YourNextBus service. Live Information from other bus operators’ services is not affected.

Disruptions may affect First services in Doncaster and Rotherham from 28-29 January 2012.

Services in Sheffield may be affected from 4-5 February 2012.

In some cases live information may not be available. In this case, customers using the YourNextBus service will receive details of services’ scheduled timetables, as opposed to real time information.
