Sheffield City Centre Cycling 24 July

Sheffield city centre are proud to host two major cycling events on Wednesday 24 July.

Not only are we welcoming riders and spectators of the annual Sheffield Grand Prix Cycle Race, but this year the city will also be hosting the Invictus UK Trials Cycling events.

The Invictus UK Trials will see over 400 Wounded, Injured and Sick (WIS) athletes compete in the traditional Invictus Games sports of which cycling is one of them. The cycling competitors will be riding the Sheffield Grand Prix Circuit during the day starting from 9am until 3pm.

The Sheffield Grand Prix will then start from 3.30pm with the Youth racing for boys and girls followed by a regional support race and will finish off the day with the British Cycling HSBC UK Elite Circuit Race, starting at 8.15pm, an event which attracts some of the country’s top professional riders.

Plan ahead

With events of this size there will be some road closures in place to ensure safety of both the riders and spectators.

If you are planning on taking part, spectating or just making your usual journey around the centre we encourage you to plan ahead and check for any changes to bus routes.

Information on bus services affected and diversion routes are available on our disruptions page
