Crucial Crew at the Lifewise Centre

Children at the Lifewise Centre

Lifewise the home of South Yorkshire Police’s “Crucial Crew” has been developed as a centre to promote positive safety messages for young people across all communities throughout South Yorkshire.

Lifewise and Crucial Crew give Year 6 pupils life skills to deal with and avoid a range of potentially hazardous situations.  The children face real life emergency situations and learn how to deal with them, by reading the situation, acting sensibly or calling for help.

Interchange scenario

From September 2006 Travel South Yorkshire has become a partner in Lifewise educating young people about the exciting opportunities and safety of using public transport. Film set designers have created a public transport interchange featuring a bus, train and tram and an information centre with a real bus and bus shelter to give young people a realistic and exciting interchange environment. Young people enter the interchange scenario and take a journey on our Travel South Yorkshire bus watching a short DVD promoting the positive impacts public transport has on the environment, the negative impacts criminal damage has on our public transport network and educating pupils about the MegaTravel Card.

Find out what Toll Bar Primary School in Doncaster thought of the interchange scenario School letter 1 and School letter 2.
