16-17 Saver - cheaper rail fares for young people

images

From today (Tuesday 20 August), 16 and 17-year-olds can benefit from cheaper national rail travel as the government launches its 16-17 Saver railcard.

For £30 per year, young people can get 50% off standard Anytime, Off-Peak, Advance and Season Tickets. The 16-17 Saver is valid for one year or until the day you turn 18 – whichever comes first.

If you’re travelling in South Yorkshire, the 16-18 Travel Pass allows you to travel for 80p per single journey on all buses and trams, as well as half fare on Northern trains. You can also use your pass to get discounted value for money tickets, which might work out cheaper if you travel regularly. Apply for your 16-18 Travel Pass now.

If your journey takes you outside South Yorkshire though, the 16-17 saver could be a great way to travel for less. Find out more and apply online
